Association of Management and Social Sciences Researchers of Nigeria, AMSSRN, 2020-2025: Our Shared Journey in Expansion of Research Horizons

1.Introduction:
The Association of Management and Social Sciences Researchers of Nigeria (AMSSRN) is a fully registered professional organization with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria is dedicated to promoting research excellence in management and social sciences. As a key research propelling body, AMSSRN plays a vital role in advancing knowledge, fostering collaboration, and driving innovation in these fields. The association was founded on the 30th of November 2020 as it sought out to stand the gap of intellectual conversation and knowledge cross breeding among scholars post Covid -19 era.

AMSSRN metamorphozed out of the shared vision for nurturing deep commitment for Research, Scholarship and Mentorship among some scholars cutting across different tertiary institutions, corporate organisations, governmental agencies & the industry. The Association has been in the forefront of pushing for Academic – Industry collaborations as a panacea for sustainable socio-economic development in Nigeria and beyond.

The Association was formally inaugurated on the 22nd of March 2021 with the then Dr. Uche Lucy Onyekwelu of ESUT as the National President and Dr. Ntiedo Joshua of Nassarawa State University as Registrar & Chairman Membership Mobilisation and Registration.

Other National leaders also inaugurated were Prof. Prince Famous Izedonmi( Education, Training & Mentorship,UNIBEN); Dr. Domnic Erah(Corporate Affairs, CBN; Dr. Aondokaa Kwaghfan Conference Committee (BSU, Markurdi) Dr. Ada -Mac Ozigbo(NOUN), National Publicity,Sir. Micheal O. Ajala, CEO /Managing Partner of Micheal Ajala Chartered Accountants, Lagos (Infrastructural Development & Finance), Chairman, Committee, Dr. Ajide Foluronsho of UNILORIN for Journals & other Academic Publications & Dr. Okoye Lawrence (COOU).

AMSSRN had enjoyed the leadership, benevolence & mentorship of its Trustees namely Professor(s)A. U. Nweze, C.E. Nwoha, G. O. Oyedokun, U. B. Ugwuanyi, J. Okoh & Barr. I. Uwakwe.
AMSSRN remain grateful for their untiring support.
2.Vision
AMSSRN’s vision is to be a leading platform for researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to shape the future of management and social sciences in Nigeria and beyond. We envision a society where research informs policy decisions, drives innovation, and improves the lives of Nigerians.

    AMSSRN’s membership cuts across scholars and researchers in the academia, government ministries, and industry. Our diverse membership base enables us to leverage expertise and experiences from various sectors to drive socio-economic development.

7.Recognition and Rewards
AMSSRN recognizes the huge sacrifices researchers in academia and industry make in growing and sustaining socio-economic development. We reward excellence through induction into Fellowship, Full, and Associate Membership admissions. We also spot and reward committed scholars with various honors.

Research Horizon Expansion
AMSSRN has anchored several programs to drive knowledge and intellectual crossbreeding among scholars. Some notable events include:

  • 1st Public Lecture on Research: Connecting the Gown and Town (2021)
  • 1st International Conference (2021) held @ ICC IMT, Enugu.
  • 2nd Public Lecture held in Enugu, 2022
  • Collaborative Conference with UNN Business School (2022)
  • 1ST Zonal Conference held @ Ignatius Ajuru University of Education in 2023
  • 2nd International Conferences held in Nile University of Nigeria, Abuja
  • 3rd International Conference held @ University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State in 2023.
  • 2023 Organized a Certificate Seminar Course on Leadership for the National Association of Senior Staff of Nigeria @ Uyo, Akwa Ibom

    AMSSRN has established and maintained two real-time online journals:

Our journals are indexed in Google Scholar, Academia, and Orchid, with internationally recognized DOI for journal indexing.

    AMSSRN provides a platform for mentorship, inspiring encouragement for both mentors and mentees. Our platform serves as a repository of knowledge, comforting and enabling zone for students undergoing postgraduate programs.

    AMSSRN is led by dedicated Committee Chairmen who oversee various aspects of research, scholarship, mentorship, and community service. Our key committees include:
  • Education, Training, and Mentorship Committee: Focuses on developing research capacity and mentoring the next generation of researchers.
